LBB appointed Graffiti Busters to carry out an ancillary works programme as part of the wider refurbishment of Bexley’s new civic offices.
Graffiti Busters were appointed by the London Borough of Bexley to supply and fix a bespoke anti-graffiti system to the councils new £21.4m civic office building.
Our remit included brick/stone cleaning and the application of a specialist anti-graffiti coating following the refurbishment of the 11,000 square metre, 1980s office building in Bexleyheath. The project also involved structural waterproofing of a 2,000 square metre new build extension at the rear of the building.
Graffiti Busters works completed spring 2014 working alongside principle contractor Mace and Bennetts Architects. A team of specialists carried out cleaning during the councils closed hours and on weekends the existing brick and new stone work was primed using a Toriq system, super-heated water and solvents combined with low pressure rotary whirl jet equipment; relieving the building of any surface soiling gently and without damage to the underlying substrate. A two coat totally clear micro-permeable anti-graffiti system was then applied using low compression spray equipment and mohair roller tools creating a uniformed sacrificial finish.
The cleaning and protection works were executed to the highest technical and aesthetic standard, with sound adherence to BS 8221-1:2012 and occupational health. Recruiting the latest technologies and guided by risk assessment, method statements and on-site briefings our skilled specialists were able to maintain the highest health and safety standards ensuring that each task was carried out efficiently and with awareness of the surrounding environment.
